GOOD BUGS IN THE GARDEN - Natural Insect Collection 2026

Type of Good Bug

None of us like pests, especially when they do damage to the plants we grow.

And all of us want to care for the einvironment so that we can  enjoy spending time outdoors in the garden with our families, friends and pets.

We have curated our top list of  natural predator insects to go after the most common pests we encounter in our gardens and the top pollinators that can help us to produce more food in our landscapes.

Review the products below  and place your prebook order by April 20th in order to ensure that you receive for timely dispersal.

1, LAWN GUARDIAN - Canadian nematodes:  Are skunks or raccoons digging up your lawn? Do you have large patches of dead grass? These are signs you have lawn grubs. Lawn Grubs are the larval stage of May/June Beetles, Japanese Beetles and European Chafers. Lawn Guardian consists of a  blend of beneficial nematodes that are microscopic worms which are native to Canada.

Nematodes are shipped on a sponge and 10 million covers 2000 sq ft. for more information on how to apply , head  to our GET GROWING BLOG on the website.

2. PRAYING MANTIS COCOON AND HATCHING CHAMBER

Hatching your Praying mantis is easy! You provide warm temperatures (22-34oC /70-90F) and daily misting of water so you can see them wiggle out of their egg case in about 4 to 6 weeks. Once egg case has hatched it is best to let the mantis go to forage into your gardens as they are very cannibalistic.

Praying Mantises are general predators that feed on aphids, beetles, caterpillars, chinch bugs, Colorado potato beetles, leafhoppers, hornworms, leafrollers, squash bugs, thrips, and whiteflies. They feed on what they can catch!

3. BEE COMBO-  Mason and Leaf Cutter bees

Mason bees are very valuable specialist pollinators of native and cultivated fruit trees such as apples, cherries, almonds, and related plants in the rose family, plus berries and a few other crops.  These bees are only active for about 2 months in mid-spring. Included in the Combo kit are 10 mason bee cocoons.

Leafcutter bees are important pollinators of many wildflowers. They pollinate fruits and late season  vegetables and are used by commercial growers to pollinate blueberries, onions, carrots, and alfalfa. Included inthe Combo kit are 25 leaf cutter bees cocoons.
