Garden Centre Retail Associate -

Full Time and Part Time Seasonal

Job Description:

Sun Harvest Greenhouses is seeking retail associates for our 4 season garden centre. We have vacancies for both full time and part time positions. If you are seeking an “on your feet” job, are keen to deliver excellent customer service, and have an interest in plants, please read on!

This position will see you as an integral part of our retail team, assisting with the merchandising and sale of the plants that we carry. You will possess an understanding and appreciation for the needs of a ‘connected’ customer who uses many online tools when making
their purchasing decisions. You will have a strong work ethic, reinforced by a keen attention to detail while performing your job. You will share your creative aptitude while working with our team to deliver a fantastic Sun Harvest experience for the retail customer both in-store, and through our workshop program.

This position begins when our retail store opens for the year at the beginning of March and ends when we close following the Christmas season in mid-December. Peak season occurs from April through June, where additional hours are available. Weekends and holidays are required. Short term seasonal positions for April through August are available as well.

Education:
- Not Required

Experience:
- Previous POS retail experience is preferred

-Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Shopify preferred

Tasks:
- Greeting and assisting customers
- Operate cash register & POS systems, process transactions
- Receive and process online orders using our ecommerce platform
- Merchandising product
- Maintaining the health and appearance of live plant products in the garden centre
- Receive & process live plants, including floral products
- General retail housekeeping
- Sorting, grading & packaging of produce in accordance with food safety procedures
- Assist with workshops & events hosted by Sun Harvest
- Assist our production teams as needed
